The Nature of Peace: Re-enchanting Ours Hearts
June 9 @ 4:00 pm - June 15 @ 2:00 pm PDT
Nature, as the source of all true knowledge, reveals profound truths through it’s simplicity and interconnectedness, as seen in the Buddha’s teachings and the lessons drawn from the natural world. By immersing ourselves in its presence, we awaken to the peace within, allowing nature to re-enchant our hearts and minds, and discover the deep insights that emerge from being truly present to the unfolding of life.
RETREAT DETAILS
“Nature is the source of all true knowledge. She has her own logic, her own laws, she has no effect without cause, nor invention without necessity.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci
By being truly present in the natural world, we discover the miracles of life unfolding before us. In a single blossom, the universe reveals itself. A raindrop reflects the vastness of entire galaxies. Nature has always been the best teacher. So many of the Buddha’s teachings, with his use of agrarian metaphors, for example, arise from the lessons of the natural world we are embedded in. Ancient texts describe him teaching the Dharma to trees, water spirits, animals, and humans. Like all great teachings, each encounter reveals a fresh insight and the Dharma can be heard, felt, and deeply experienced. In this silent retreat, we will open the doors to the peace that nature can offer and find peace within ourselves and the community. Do you wish to wake up from the slumber of despondency common in the suffering of this world? We invite you to experience the natural world and allow the energies of nature to re-enchant our hearts and minds.
