Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is the industry standard for mindfulness meditation.

C reated in 1979 by MIT-trained PhD Jon Kabat Zinn, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is the most documented and studied meditative intervention practice.

MBSR has been scientifically tested and explored across more than 25,000 patients at the University of Massachusetts Stress Reduction Clinic, a place of last resort for patients with chronic, unremitting pain and medical conditions.

MBSR is an intensive meditation course, meeting 2.5 hours a week for 8 weeks plus a daylong meditation retreat and the commitment to meditate daily.  As a result, it is extremely rewarding to teach because people who are able to stick with it, often report amazing transformations in their lives.

The MBSR Course is built upon this research and has been scientifically proven to remedy various conditions, rewire the brain’s patterned behaviors, and improve quality of life.

Studies show that over the 8 weeks of meditation, people experience structural changes to the anatomy of the brain which makes people more resilient and more resistant to the negative effects of stress

I have completed the training required to teach MBSR by the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School.
